Tekaway is above all an activist crew !
The association, created and managed by Joanne & Zazoo, regroups 4 resident DJs, but also a photographer, a graphist and a webmaster.
This association has for object to promote the music of today ; the promotion of artists ; "bookings" ; the recrutment of third parties ; the advice regarding promotion and communication ; to encourage, to promote and to produce events.
Association created in June 2002, TEKAWAY Concept has for main objective to promote the electronic and alternative music scene. She decides to give specific attention to the development of Drum and Bass in France, participating to a movement which is becoming huge on the European dancefloors. Since then, TEKAWAY Concept decides to concentrate its efforts and abilities to organise a great number of events in order to create a cultural network around this musical axis.
TEKAWAY Concept today proposes to help develop the image of electronic music through : advice, various events around the diferent arts - living art, visual art, and contemporary art, to give it, at last, a cultural sense.
For that, the association proposes the following services :
- Advice in promotion (mailings, street marketing, edition),
- Advice in production (pre- production, production, post-production),
- Event organisation ( parties, concerts, ‘happenings’, bookings : DJs, VJs, jugglers),
- Agenda propositions and programming
- Co-productions
End 2003, TEKAWAY Concept decides to associate itself with JPPA Productions, association that edits the cultural magazine @xé libre and producer of the GHOST'N’ ROLL Sessions. Together, they propose to open up the blinkers through an original musical journey. They start exploring the labyrinthes of the different contemporary musical tribes (Metal, Rock, Pop, Electro, Gothique, Electro-jazz,...and hence Drum and Bass) offering an environment mixing styles, concepts and the different artistic registers…
In September 2003, the association Open Yür Mind, which main objective is to favorise cultural encounters, joins the group. From then on, European exchanges are developed and in particular those with Eastern Europe.
This project starts on board of the boat , la Péniche Alternat, where the group is in charge of the agenda and programming from June 2003 to March 2005. Tekaway establishes its bi-monthly residence with the now reknowned ON/OFF parties.
Since then, Tekaway has contined its events throughout Paris, in different venues such as Glaz'Art, Trabendo, l'Indépendance, la Bellevilloise etc. Recently, Tekaway has blown her 4 candles, with the 34th ON/OFF event @ GLAZ’ART !
